Hi Folks,
New member here, thanks for letting me join. I've been interested in music and hifi since I was a kid and built a handful of diy audio projects such as the Starving Student valve headphone amp and a pi streamer amongst others.
I'm here looking for inspiration as I head into retirement. I'm a qualified engineer and a passionate tinkerer.
Currently looking how to build a small, easily portable stereo amp for a digital piano.

Hi and welcome.
Is there a commercial product that defines what is achievable, in terms of size, output Power, and overall portability/ power requirements. Possibly Yamaha or Roland KC series?
Maybe a stereo class D amp and power source and some 6-12" PA type drivers from Faital Pro, Beyma or suchlike.
You could have a quick look at the Blue arran website they have a good choice of drivers. and price range to choose from.

Hi Raymond,
Thanks for the welcome and the response. I've just posted a very verbose explanation on the musical instruments forum, but the closest thing to what I'm looking for is probably the Roland KC 220. But it's over €500...and I don't need battery power. I think Korg and Boss do similar portable speakers, but they all seem focused on busking with a battery pack, which I don't need.
I want something small, maybe 30 W per side, and was even thinking about 2x tweeters (one left and right ) and possibly a shared woofer, or a woofer just connected to my left hand. I don't need stereo separation as such, it's just that most modern digital pianos sound rubbish in mono, and mine certainly does even when the two channels are summed together.
