I have been asking around, and I am not sure why I didn't come here 1st, since u guys are da experts.

Hope this isn't off-topic...

I have a "TFT-SVGA-12" 12.1-inch lcd display, connected to a PCI graphics card via these pin connectors (yep, my own drawings):

http://www.angelfire.com/retro/here/lcd.html

I am wondering if they still make, or have any display adapters for these type of connections (I am trying to replace a 4mb vid card :-\ ) Is the TFT connections used on desktop lcd displays the same ones as in my picture?

In other words, is this a valid replacement?:

It says tft...🙁 ..lol

Thanks for any info.

I think it's a 4MB vid card (which is why i'd like to replace) The comp looks to have started around 200 mhz, but the MB has been replaced by the previous owner, and was up to 500mhz when I bought it. The video card has never been replaced, though. So 200mhz may give you an idea of how old it is. Color depth is great, 24 bit, up to 800x600, (but 1024x768 worked too). Says BSI on the card, made by bsicomputers (http://www.bsicomputer.com). Oh, and this is what it looks like BTW...

That may not be the exact model...

The card's PCI and is made by "chips technologies", which is now ASILIANT: http://www.asiliant.com/products.htm

My model number, when the screen pops up when I 1st turn on the comp, is "65554".

Hope that helps you help me.

Thanks a ton,

what you have is a very special video card which can drive an
lcd directly. most people want what you already have

if you want to use a regular video card you will also need to convert vga to lvds or whatever your specific lcd unit needs
earthlcd is a good starting place

why..

1) So why do people want what I already have? Is my controller worth $$? ;-) Anyhow, "LVDS" was the keyword I was lookin for (I think), this card looks to be the type that would work for me:

http://www.spectrah.com/LD-S372.htm

The two connections near the top look to match my pin drawings. This one is 8MB.

2) Anyone know where to find anything faster or better? I am looking to turn this lunchbox into a lan machine or all in one movie projection pc.

3) My other idea was, are there vid cards out there that supply the graphics power internally, but leave the output to another display adapter? (Like the one I have installed..)

Thanks for the continuing support,
