Testing my tweeters on an IEC test baffle

So i made a scaled down IEC test baffle. well at least i used the proportions. since the smallest size i could find is for 4 inch drivers..... an d i only use tweeters. so i guess smaller would have done the job. but hell.

Pic 1 i am so glad i got a cnc, look how nicely that wood made a friction fit 🙂 (i could have pressed the last 0.3 mm)

Pic 2 the Neo V 28 in the baffle..

Pic 3 My old Neo v10 single ended in the baffle from the backside... with some tapes added to round of these nasty corners. should make a new wooden piece especially for this driver. since this is shabby. 🙂

Pic 4 Neo v28 12 micron alu, in the baffle. not really that impressed to be honest. yes it is loud in the top end...

Pic 5 Neo V10 single ended just stuck in there without tapes and without a metal backplate.

Pic 6 neo v10 with steel backplate and tapes to round off the baffle cutout.

Pic 7 Neo V28 and the V10 with steel and tape and some felt to damp resonance on the back

Dark red Neo v28 Push pull just like the B&G's
Red Neo V10 with steel back and tape and felt.

Here is how a B&G neo 8 looks in single ended mode, so it only becomes worse, in freq response

same colors except B&G Neo8 leveled in output to seee how far it extends, being purple, it did not have a baffle so i can imagine it goes lower with far more ouput.

Well i am not sure what to do.

I keep getting back to my Neo V10. it has a radical different design, far far far more easy to construct, less sensitivity, but as you can see mostly is in the top end... something i need to get rid of anyways. but worse vertical dispersion. not that i care much about that 🙂 but also the smoothest response of them all.

A notch -4 dB at 13 khz would make the the Neo v10 look like this.

well any input would be helpful.. V10 remains time after time the best in FR. yes not so much in sens and probable not reaching 100db+, but i started this of with wanting a planar tweeter that covered a bigger range then usually in a small monitor... so i guess best bet is still the neo v10 ?

Please let me know what you think!
