Testing a Leslie Rotary Speaker w/o the controller

Any idea how I might be able to test, or demonstrate the condition of, a Leslie rotating speaker cabinet without the organ/controller?

It depends on the model. There are dozens of different ones and several different pin configurations. Depending on what model, you may have to short pins together to turn it on, or provide 120VAC through two of the pins like in the old 6-pin configuration. You need to find the schematic or pinout for the particular type of pin configuration and then rig up a test jig that provides the right inputs or signals. I have experience with 6-pin, 9-pin and 11-pin. The latter two are safer since the 120VAC was moved outside the Amphenol plug that carries the music and low-voltage control signals.

External image hosting is problematic on a forum; also that image is way over-sized and under-exposed.

Sorry, when I click on the "Insert Image" icon, it only allows you to insert a URL. I've never posted an image on a thread here before. Anyway, it's just showing the 6-pin configuration. @hhhh do you have suggestions for testing this unit? We're moving soon and I'm trying to sell it but would like to prove to any potential buyers that it works. Thanks!
