Wav-file - format
I've been wondering:
if I could get an explanation of the datastructure of the .WAV file-format,
it shouldn't be too complicated to write a computer program which generates a wav file with any contents.
I did some searches via google but haven't found this information.
Maybe one of you guys can help?

Yes ACD......(youv'e woken me up here)....... I do drive and fire mainline steam trains ( a wonderful business and discussion topic away from audio ) but you really need an expander in the audio system plus a kW amp + speakers to appreciate even the whistle. Even classical FM channels with lower modulation levels cannot touch the dynamic expansion required. The best country to listen and "blow off" is the UK.

Ive been using a great program by NCH. They have a free trial download and its very easy to use. It allows you to create any type of tone and duration you desire and then save as a wav. file for audio CD burning.

You are right....
No common amplifier/speakersystem can substitute the real thing
However with two bridged amps delivering more than 350W into 8 Ohm, and speakers with 15" woofers and a sensitivity better than 96 dB you can come really close......😉
So think my neighbours living 100 meters away also.....
The went outdoor to see the jetfighter 😀
