Test RCA inputs Kenwood KAC 7202

The amp powers and operates but has feedback to the sub even at min gain settings when the RCAs are connected. Otherwise it seems to operate as it should, all feedback to the sub stops when rcas are removed. As long as 1 is plugged in there is noise.

I was testing this amp and the RF that is usually installed operates perfectly.

So I don't think it is car/head/wiring issues but maybe shorted input side of the amp?

What would be the starting point to test rca for shorting to ground?

I have a MM/test light/power probe

Thanks

Thanks for the reply Perry. I have read your tutorial and it must have taken a long time to compile that much info. Lots of helpful info for a beginner such as myself.

Don't think HU shielding is my issue I have used a different source as an input Ipod connected with RCAs and still have the same problem.

Thinking its internal with the amp

Had less than an ohm on the HU shield but grounded it anyway....Still noise

Not sure what the actual problem was but I soldered a jumper to ground on RCA neg on motherboard of amp and the noise is gone now. So now this should work in my ride so I can try and tackle the blown channel in my other amp
