I already built it with my home made pcbs, now I want to build it with the boards Harrison sent me. I just haven't time to do it yet. It blowed me away with the beautifull mids and powerfull bass! I was curious to know if you feel the same😉
I feel a bit ashamed though, throwing something together like that rather than making it look nice right from the gitgo.
How would you rate the sound all things constant 😉 . Have you listened to many types of music ? Does it please you ? A nice amp should be able to adapt 😉 , everybody put in their own signature to the amp. Drow brought in the flat packs, Paulo used different devices and did quite some research on caps 😉 , this is truely a world class design. And now you, you have brought in something new.

And i had to change some resistor values that i dident have.
Atleast i tried to cobble together values there were as close as possible based on what i had in my resistor assortment.

Hi Tekko,
What are the jumpers near pre-driver transistors? Are they something missing from the PCB, and we need to add them like that?

It was a fix for a oscillation problem i had: http://i.imgur.com/KIaAM.png <-- the black lines on the pre driver capacitors.
On the board they were wired to ground, i rewired them to the collectors and my oscillation problem was gone.

Routhun,
Kindly construct without first making Mods to PCB. If it doesn't work out you can make changes. Component quality plays a role.
kind regards,
Harrison.

Thank you Tekko and OnAudio. I'll try to build as it is and if oscillates I'll implement Tekko's mod.
Thanks
Thanks
The oscillations i had may well be because i used 2N5400 and 2N5550 for the frontend and MJE15030 and MJE15031 as drivers instead of the transistors listed.
So yes, build it as intended at first and see if it oscillates, do not apply my mod unless you fail to cure the oscillations no matter what.
Technically my mod should make no difference, but for some reason it did.
Btw a video of my symef build: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZg7ES5ZvDc

Thanks for the videos and good work.😉
How much do you trust your ceramics ? (ceramics are easily damaged or could come from not so good a source, or may have compromised performance)
Could you filter the line comming from the speakers with the onboard RC filter.
The coil + resistor together with the RC filter form a barricade

I have actually never used a zobel link on any of my amplifiers, but then again my speaker wires are rarely longer than 2 meters anyways.
I think you have to exceed like 15-20 meters of speaker wire before it can cause stability issues with the amp.
