Those who have zero expectations are easily contented. I agree with you about the dumb stuff but being dumb is not our major problem. Ants are dumb (all day working WTF) but they're doing fine. And about our future destruction...it has been said with fewer words: you're going to reap what you sow.
we cannot conclude that ants are dumb. Actually, ants have highly evolved social strata. What the ants and other species have done is gone beyond the "self". At least we study other species to try to understand our place in this universe. The only problem is that we do not incorporate what we learn from other species that have been around for millennia. What do we do instead? Destroy habitats, rain forests etc. We destroy the things that could bring us answers that we strive to address. This is more than dumb. Its our own purposefully devised demise.
Ants carry items 50 times their own body weight. How silly is that? Doesn't look safe to me. Plus they do all kind of silly things....like crossing paths when there's people walking around.....silly soldiers too, with poor fighting techniques.
Actually, our main problem is having some sort of intelligence. It drive us crazy. Kind of funny when you think about it.
Kinda unfair. (mostly totals not per capita). We Canadians arent far behind, the way our present government is going.
But its not the governments that rule, its the big corporations, and there only reason for being is greed. Institutionalized selfishness. Thats why we are doomed.
A person can over-dramatize the situation with words like "doomed." Most reasonable people would, I think, accept that nothing lasts forever in our known universe. Those with a religious inclination notwithstanding, but I don't want to go there anyway.
I will say that that poster needs to look for some kind of cure for his chronic one-track-mind-itis.
At least that shows some intellectual honesty.

I have insufficient time and motivation to continue on with this. Suffice it to say that an overwhelming refusal to identify a problem results in a continually elusive solution.

Sofa...I respect your non motivation to continue with this discussion...but if you did, you would fail. There is absolutely no such proof that can substantiate we are genetically/psychologically predisposed to continue this way and succeed. There is absolutely no difference in humanity and its trials and tribulations since the beginning of human social interactions. Do you thing we have advanced in terms of love, pain, suffering, than lets say humanity in the dark ages? People have had the same psychological predispositions throughout human existence. We do not empathize more or less, feel pain, love, more or less than before. We are STILL in the same boat. We are stagnant.
The evolution required to achieve these advances is not in our reach. Certainly not within the next few hundred years. And I seriously doubt we can keep our crap together till then.
I would love for you to enlighten me, since I am actually very open minded. But I understand your lack of interest to continue this discussion.

If you're talking about some new-agey emotional evolution, I'd say you're wasting your time. Concepts of love, pain, suffering, etc. only exist because we're intelligent enough to recognize them, i.e. they come with be a conscious being. People can find the same concepts to one degree or another in a lot of animals with advanced nervous systems, and guess what... that situation hasn't changed either. In eons. Life is sometimes pleasant, and sometimes tough. But only for the living.

Interesting. Are you running router? If so, you should not necessarily worry about this effecting you. Your DNS servers are defined withing the router...and your PC should be directed to the router for this info. If you do a config /all like suggested...you should see your IP address of the router.
