Thanks, no, I mean a real parts distributor 🙂 Those people don't sell Technics parts, they just sell some 1200 parts and little odds and ends.
In the base, right rear corner. I believe it's the part marked S701 in the above blow-up diagram, but I'm not sure. Do you have the parts list that goes with that diagram? Thanks.
Edit: I did find the part in the service manual. It is S701 as stated above, part number SFDSC05N01 Called "cabinet switch".

Try Panasonic (parent company of Technics) parts web site:
Panasonic Parts & Service - Consumer
I've been able to find a few parts and manuals, though it's tough for older products. I would think a simple switch (the actual switch and not just the fancy knob/button) would be easily found at a place like Digi-key.

Shorten it!

Shorten it????
I think something got lost in the translation.
Connect both wires in one!

OK, sorry, didn't get that.
In English, "to shorten" means "to reduce the length"
The verb for producing an electrical short circuit is "to short" or "to short circuit".
Yes, I can short the wires, but I still want to get a switch.

The switch assembly may be made up of a stock switch or microswitch combined with a mechanical adapter that translates the motion from the TT lid to the switch. See if the switch assembly can be disassembled or post some pictures of it & we may be able to better advise you.

Kevin, thanks. Yes I have the mechanical ability to kludge something up, but it's not worth my time. It's easy enough to just short it for functionality. I just want to buy the right switch to restore it to original if possible.

Not suggesting a kludge, rather that a stock readily available switch may already be incorporated into the OEM part...companies like Panasonic (Technics) rarely manufacture a custom switch mechanism, they typically just build a custom mechanical adapter around a stock switch to adapt it to their application.
No, it's not like that, it's very much a purpose made switch.
In my experience it's very rare to see a "stock" switch "adapted". While that may be the case on some very low volume exotic equipment, it's rarely true in mass produced equipment. The tooling for the "adapter" is not that much cheaper than tooling a whole switch so the economics are just not there.

Albeit clumsy, best site for technics turntable parts.
They have everything and shipping is fast.
Cross check your p/n # reference via google to be sure, this might take some time.
