Technics SU-8099 fuse question

Hi,

I opened up my Technics SU-8099 for the first time to clean the pots. When I was taking pictures of it, I noticed a fuse somewhere in the back (250 V - F7 T 800mA), which doesn't
seem to have a wire in it ?
Do there exist fuses which do not have a metal wire in them ?
The amplifier works perfect (and is also in near perfect optical condition 🙂, so it seems impossible that the fuse is blown...
but then why isn't there a wire to be seen ?

have you tested it with an ohmmmeter or a "buzzer" yet?!

Some fuses have very thin fuse wires, like 100 mA fast for instance. 1A has also pretyy thin wire.

Remember also: If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

To me it looks like the fuse powering the DC protection circuitry. You may want to check those relay contacts haven't welded closed, and thats why no power to the DC protect circuit doesn't matter.
