Hello friends ,
A friend of mine gave me this tt to fix .
It's power on , all the arm related functions works ,every light and led goes on but not spin !
When push start , the arm goes to the right position then return to the rest position .
I've checked the supply , are ok .
With the service manual I 've tried to follow their check to pin related but it's hard to fix the probe inside , put all together and check .
So , with no experience on this kind of tt , I've take decision to replace the chip driver ic101 .
This a costy chip , around 30€ , and I like to know if someone else has found this kind of problem and fixed changing this chip .
I know that it's will run I will also replace all elett caps , but before Iwant to know if this happen to others .
I 've done search but others had speed related so their table spin .
Mine doesn't !
Could you help me ?
Many thanx
Gabriele

Check pins 1, 2 and 24. There should be pulses driving the motor.
Pin 17 and 18 should be oscillating at 50kHZ. The AN6675 is unlikely to be faulty. Check the voltages around it, pin by pin.

Ciao Jon , yes I'm gonna check 50k but , it's difficult to check cause you have to put the probe , put all the parts together and then try for each TP point .
I've checked all supply and they are ok , so I try to look for similar experience from user with similar fault .
Before submit this thread , I've read the others and seem that spin related fault are on speed . The table spin in different speed and then stop .
My problem is that doesn't start but all other function are fine .
If I can't find the fault I will solder some wire to the motor related pin and let they run out the turntable to have the access to test.
Other hint to check is the ic201 , it get hot ,round 60*c .
This player also ,with no record , has to spin few turn when you push start just to check what record size is on the table .
Sorry for my english , hope it's clear..
Ok was not ouptput signal in an6675 .
So today the chip has been replace and the tt is back to spin .
I've replace all elettrolityc caps (a lot ) and now play from 4 hours .
Sometime autoreturn doesn't works , I know that is just a little adj on arm .
Someone know a rapid methode to let it works ?
Thank , gabriele

The auto return sounds like a mechanical problem. Make sure all sliders and metalwork is clean and dry, not covered in dry grease
