Hi all. To begin with let me just say that I am not an electronics pro, so my knowledge is limited at best. That said I have had some success.
As stated I have a technics SL-10 turntable that when playing gets to around half way and then intermittently loses signal on the left channel. After some logic searching I found no problems with the cable from the main pc board to the cart. So i traced the circuit back to the muting circuit. I found a faulty transistor (2SD639) The problem i'm having is I cant seem to find one.
Does anyone know of an equivalent (proven).
All of our local suppliers do not give enough info for this one.😡
Your help in this regard would be most appreciated.

It is only a 10.6V regulator. I would use a 2n4401. It is a different case but straightforward to fit as the pinout is similar.
Almost any 60Volt or more NPN transistor will do.
