bad pot on my volume control. scratchy and cuts in and out. any ideas appreciated. numerous searches have failed to find an online parts store. thanx dan
Hi Dan, do you have the pot out of the amp? Can you post some photos here. I have become something of a pot sleuth lately in my attempts to locate replacement units for things I have been given to repair.
Dan, you could try De-Oxit spray; the milder version used for pots. (I think it's called DeOxit Gold, but don't rely on my memory!).
okay--now the pics are uploaded---d

I have the same receiver and my volume pot does the same thing... i know how to solder pretty well, but i don't know if i want to take the time or effort to do this if someone does find a replacement, though it would be nice to know the part. Is there any special technique for using a cleaning spray like that... or precautions?

hi--it looks like the cleaner has worked. the set operates like new. ill see if it lasts awhile and report back. i actually used cleaner and then a cleaner lubricant. both sprays from radio shack. cost $23.00. like dillrepair i did not want to use a toxic spray so i put up with it for 15yrs. good luck and crank up the volume--dan
