One of my decks is giving me grief when I turn the pitch down to -8 on the slider. It makes the sound go all 'wobly' and stuff. Sort of like when you speed up and slow down, speed up and slow down the record.
The other range of the pitch slider -7 to +8 is fine.
Can someone please help troubleshoot the problem?
Thank you!

It is very likely that the fader itself is worn out. Using contact spray is not a good idea IMO. Try find a new one.

Yes it is the pitch control. If I wanted to replace this myself, how hard would it be?
..I replaced the turntable light before, and both of the clips that hold the toner arm in place.
Thanks

If you can handle a soldering iron there's no problem at all.
Keep in mind that there are two (actually three) type of faders.
The one for the very old 1200's, the one for the newer turntables and the variant with no center click.
If you ever replaced the light you will know if all busses felled out when you remove the rubber base.
If this is not the case you have the newer model.
This is important to know because the fader for the old model is different.
So, if you have an old model you should order EVBJ05C19ABE
The new model fader part number is SFDZ122N11

I have a version with no click on both MKII's of mine, I am picking up the fader replacement part from some old guy who repairs the decks here.
Thanks
Thanks
Hugo,
do you know if it's possible to replace the pitch control in a 1210MK2 with a pitch control from a 1210MK5?
Cheers,
Jody
