Apon recording with my x-2000m deck, when i set the deck up to record mode, the input monitor source is heard through the deck. When I finish recording and playback what was recorded, there is no sound. Has anyone else who had this tape deck experienced this problem? Please let me know if there is a solution to this problem.
I didthat same thing
Even after i switched from source to tape, im still getting no sound. I even transferred the tape to my other deck, and still no sound. Maybe i can obtain a pdf download of the operating manual to be extra sure of this feature.
Thanks, very much as this is a nice sounding deck I'd hate to get rid of.

The headphones have sound only when the tape/source switch is set to source?
Or is there sound in both positions?

Okay, what I'm doing now is i pushed the 2 source buttons in, as well as turning on the rec mode. When I put the 2 buttons on the tape mode, no sound
See page 6 in the owner's manual and follow all the instructions carefully.
