TDA8932 2 x 15w... connections

Hi there I need some professional help with an amp board that I bought from Ebay…
Digital TDA8932 Amplifier Board 2x 15w
Digital TDA8932 Amplifier Board 15W/30W/35W Mono Amplifier Module Low Power NEW | eBay

information from the site says ….” Speaker Interface: 2.0mm pitch 2PIN”. So I tried a Molex connector PH2.0 2-Pin (spacing 2.0mm) . It doen’t fit and the seller wasn`’t very helpful. Is anybody familiar with this particular module? I need to find the proper cable/connections. Obliged for any help

Thank you both for such fast replies. The "JST-PH 2.0mm 2-Pin for the speaker outputs" I have already tried but it doesn't fit because the pins just don't align. The gap between pins on the board is more than 2mm., this is why I asked if anyone was familiar with this particular board. And it looks way too delicate to bring a soldering iron to play

I'm fed up with these connectors since every manufacturer seems to intentionally use something no other one does. And since you can't just buy one or two, buying these connectors in 10++ packs, it accumulates to a mountain of unused ones and for the next board you can't find them anymore even they are sorted in bags with labels on them and you are absolutely sure you DID buy them - but were swallowed by some kind of black hole. 😡

That's exactly why I hate these connectors. Okay, it's mainly the fault of the sellers to not give the correct informations but that does not change anything on the issue of not fitting connectors. There are often multiple sellers of the same amp board, just select one of the ones who includes the connectors with cables, even if it costs 30cts more.

I can only repeat, just de-solder the plugs and solder the wires to the amplifier board. Problem solved, doesn't cost any more and no wait time.

Occasionally some amps come wit connectors but not this one. Nice try

TDA8932

So maybe the sockets on the amp are 2.54 spacing, not 2.0, as advertised on the eBay listing?
In this case you need JST-XH 2.54mm 2-Pin connectors.

Hey linuxfan you were right I brohght the amp to my local electronics store "Conrad"`'s the gap between pins is 2.5 and not 2.0mm. Other sites selling this board are also wuoting 2.0mm.
Anyway & for what it`s worth, the 2 pin audio cable ( Lipo Balancer Kabel XH 2Pol. 1S)

I found at https://www.trollmodellbau.de/Lipo-Balancer-Kabel-XH-2Pol-1S-01
and the three pin (
3 pol Lipo Sensorkabel XH 3-p0l )direct from "Conrad"`s s. Attach (o.k., it appears "Atachments" doesn`t work)

You`'ve all been very helpful many thanks, great forum!

Never solder wires directly to cheap Chinese PCB's as the tracks will peel off fast when some mechanical force is applied. It is also amateurish and it makes reworking a hassle.

2.54 mm pitch is as standard as standard can be. If you get fed up with the various types you could switch to Molex KK 0,100 and buy a crimping tool. You won't regret that.

Any hints on earthing these modules? I've got a BTL module which works great, but hums a lot when I turn it up. Output socket is isolated, I've got it earthed to the metal case at the input jack, PS jack.
Orientation makes a difference, could be because there's no connection to mains earth (PS is double insulated, input is a battery powered drum machine).

It's not a mistake to solder the wires on. Firstly, within the amp case there's no point where mechanical force can be applied except for outside plugs or pots. But even then, the board is mounted somewhere. If that allows that much movement it could pull off the wires, then you've done something wrong mounting the amp.

Secondly: Every cable got two ends. 😉 It's enough if the other end got a plug or screw terminal.

2,54mm pitch isn't used on every amp. You can have the nicest tools and plugs, it's of no use if uses a different standard.

Remove that connection.

It IS a mistake and it is not even allowed in production of electronics in the EU. Any pro will frown when seeing such amateurish practices. Normally the wires are soldered to speaker terminals and such and finished with crimped connectors at the PCB.

I have the original Molex crimping tools and never regretted that. It is a bit like those complaint about Torx. Just buy the set or screw drivers and accept. The crimping tool can be used for various connectors.

When reluctant as most old fashioned DIYers Phoenix screw connectors also are a way better choice than soldering wires to PCBs.

Dude, he's not producing electronics, he wants to get a DIY amp finished and that's a hobby for him! You can's expect someone to follow each and any industrial standards for production when doing his hobby builds. I've seen boards on ebay you will pull out the socket connector from the board if you'd try to remove the plug.

I can assure you, for someone who just wants to build his own amp, it's perfectly fine if one side of his cable is removable and the other side is soldered in. No safety hazard, no torn off board traces.

If the OP couldn't find the JST connectors replacing the few connectors on that PCB for a few Phoenix screw connectors would be a more optimal choice and it also does not cost much. If one accepts industrial quality and practices things are built better.

OP asks for professional help, not for substandard practices. Anyway, OP found the JST connectors with wires so things are solved anyway.
