OTOH, if a board specs input voltage as a switched power supply, then it is definitely just single rail VDC power, right?

Nareshbd please stop derailing the thread with no useful information, even by post #19 you still don´t understand what supply is being used, yet offered advice based on wrong assumptions (TDA7294 or single supply Class D).
Muxelle is needlessly getting confused.
