TDA7498 maximum voltage

The datasheet of TDA7498 and TDA7498E both list 40V as the maximum voltage.
They also say something about an overvoltage protection.
I have not found any evaluation of those numbers, the functionality of the protection, nor of the sound quality at around 40V.
I have no equipment to test that as my laboratory psu can only provide up to 32V.
So maybe somebody has already tried out how the amp behaves at higher voltages.

I am using it at 24V although to get higher power it's 34V (max, for 80W+80W, 10%THD and 8 ohm)
As it is, 24V, 6.5A is doing fine driving my RTL3 floorstanders. SMPS power supply.
I don't think I will give it any higher than 34V.
Am building that PSU now..
