Hey!
I have a question regarding my TDA7492P. Everytime I turn it on, it makes a loud thump in the speakers, and an even louder one when I turn it off. These thumps are scary loud and very annoying. They are the same loudness regardless of what the volume is set to. Anyone know what is causing this? I have not built the amp myself, I bought it from ebay
I also have another question. I've been curious how the TPA3116 sounds in comparison to the TDA7492P. Is it worth buying one if i already own the 7492P and don't intend to do any modifications to it? Unless some simple ones could actually increase the sound quality noticeably, then I would probably make an exception.
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a there is a DC settling time somewhere in the amp causing the thump.
I cant comment much without seeing the circuit.
You could purchase a speaker protection pcb and that will hold off relay for a few seconds while the amp settles down. Although it 'might' not work on power down thumps. Depends if relay drops out first or power amp.
