Hi everyone!!
I'm here again for the same reason, that's my Love for audio amp chips 🙂
I love making chip amps as they get ready so simply and easily and also with low budget. So, I bought a couple of tda2050 chips from my local market in India just to make cool amp for my computer. I knew that ST has discontinued it long back in 2013 but still out of love for them I bought it and before assembly I tested it with my multimeter. And to my disappointment I found that one of the tda2050 failed the test. On seeing the chip thoroughly I found a white burn mark on the chip which looks like it bursted already!
On testing the other tda2050, I found them ok except with a trimmed pin on another chip. So I came to conclusion that these tda2050 although available still around $2 bugs or so is original one but it's recovered from old or rejected gadgets or maybe some damaged TVs or home theaters and that's why there are chances of getting damaged chips or even working chips with trimmed legs coz they're extracted from boards and then resold

Reclaimed TDA20** is no surprise as they were obsolete back in 2011 and no longer manufactured.
They were a very useful chip in their day primarily used in high power car radios for Grundig and Philips.
