I tried both passive (1K) and active (OPA134's) I/V conversion with the TDA1543 and although bass is OK, the highs seem to be not there. The medium range is also nice.
The active conversion like in the datasheet has no parts in the signal path except the TDA1543 and an OPA134, so no degradation should occur. I am using a datasheet implementation of a 7805 to feed the dac. The input data comes in I2S format from a CDM12.1.
Is this absence of the high range of the spectrum a characteristic of the TDA1543?

This puzzles me as I have plenty of highs.
Is this a objective (measurement) or subjective (listening) experience? Did you do a frequency sweep from a test-CD ?

There is no problem with highs. I don't even think it's worse than TDA1541 as some people commented before.
I guess there is something with my implementation. This is a subjective experience, as I dont have a scope and my pc sound card is blown.
Are there any downloads on the net of test cd's?
Do you experience severe pops on the speakers when turning on? And noise between tracks? I always have to turn on the cdp and only then the amp (Im using a opa549 gainclone).
