I was thinking of putting a new clock in my CDP with tube output stage so (missing a service manual) I opened it and I found a TDA1311 D/A converter. On the datasheet it seems somethig like the 1545 but with voltage output and worst specs on THD.
Some questions:
1) Anybody heard about this chip? Is it a good one or is better to forget about modding the CDP and look for something else?
2) On the board I have found two crystals: one 12.000 and one 16.9344. I guess the latter is the one to substitute with a clock board (maybe KC7). Am I wrong?
Many thanks to everybody.

Hi
1 - I have no experience with the 1311
2 - The 16.9344 MHz is the conversion clock
succes
Hi Guido,
thanks for your reply.
16.9 makes sense, the decoder is SAA7345.
I read on your website that the clock wiring have to be kept really short. I can't put the clock board near the original quartz because is placed under the drive mech.
What's the length of the wiring you supply with your board?
Anybody had experience with 1311?

Hi
I'd suggest 10 cm, the twisted wiring works fine
If you use coax it can be longer, assumed it is terminated at the other (receiving) end
