so much coming out of the port opening in the bottom.
I am slightly intrigued by the 1772.
But if (1772) equalized flat, and compared to a eq flattened 2145, I doubt I could hear a difference ............

Yeah. It helps to startwith wonderfully produced music but a recording of a recording that sounds that good? Dang!
It's not so bad if you look at it like a horn variant; Av appears to be about 105% Sd so in that sense it's unbaffled & will have a slightly wider gain BW than a more restrictive mass load. I assume it's also a nearfield vent measurement so the characteristics will probably be a bit exaggerated.wow

Hope I am not zombieing an old thread needlessly. I'm now to the forum, about to start building a few speakers of my own and then may tackle an amp. I have a couple of W8-1772s on the way.
Does anyone know if Bob Brines still sells his plans and how I can get in touch?
I think I will start with the B18s as I relearn my woodworking skills and then maybe do a TL or TQWT with these drivers. I have enough details to do the B18s from pictures and dimensions in a few other forum posts, but I would be happy to pay for the full plans. If Bob is unreachable I would be interested in the B18 and M18 plans if someone has them available or a reverse engineered clone.

Since it has become unavailable Scott did a tribute design. Called Bonniville.
