2cm or 3/4" I did everything in cm because that's what hornresp does and I didn't feel like converting everything. Sorry I'm lazy like that sometimes.
Major gravedigging on this thread, but I have a pair of these elements, and this seems like a decent enclosure. Anyone tried building these in real life?
And can the filter be simplified MAJORLY? The element costs 28e in here, but filter parts for one speaker cost 113e, which is way too much.

You know I've learned a lot more about horn design since I did this design if you like I could come up with something better in short order. I've found that instead of using a filter to kill the high frequency simply implementing a small front horn can make for an amazing design. I'd gladly put something together for you. Let me know what your design priorities are i.e. simplicity of construction, dynamics, low frequency extention, etc.

These speakers are going to be a present for my cousin, who lives in a concrete apartment building, so the room is going to enchance the bass a bit (they are probably going to be next to a wall too). The dynamics are important, but so is the low frequenzy extension, since they are going to be just a stereo pair for music/movies on perhaps 60/40% ratio. I wouldn't really worry about complexity, I'm pretty confident on my woodworking skills. 😀
And last thing, please don't make it too expensive, I'm on a quite limited budget (university student). The wood is quite cheap, but the notch filter parts are damn expensive here.
Thanks you for your kindness in this subject. I dont have much experience actually designing speakers (building my first self-designed speakers now), and without your help, I would have just probably slammed the elements to a 7l IB enclosure

I could probably eliminate the need for a filter altogeather I'll get on it tonight and post it when I'm done. Is there a particular size requirement?
Well, nothing overly massive, but a floor-standing speaker nevertheless. The element could be in the same height as the ears, about 1,3m from floor?
