Straight to the point - anyone have schematic / service info for a
TASCAM IF-DA8. (8 Channel TDIF to Balanced Audio Out converter).
I bought one (via Ebay). It indicates that it locks to the TDIF signal but the audio output is just hiss and noise.
The same TDIF cable works fine going to a Soundscape SSIO8-3 converter box.
I've had a look inside (with scope / meter) and can't find a problem - clocks, logic levels and power look okay. Same on all outputs so guess problem is related to the common clock / logic / power as unlikely all data / audio io affected same.
Could be something common (2.5V reference ???) going to the analogue output sections.
But Output goes quiet when unlocked so indicated that the DAC is source of noise.
Any input appreciated.
