X seeCurrently I have Zaph Audio 5.3T
Zaph|Audio ZA5.3t TMM Tower, Pair
more info here
Zaph|Audio - ZA5 Speaker Designs with ZA14W08 woofer and Vifa DQ25SC16-04 tweeter

My requirements are to play loud, clean, and low, which the Tarkus seems to do! But I also have seen the SB Acoustics being recommended around here...but have never seen or found any info of them being compared directly...My listening is mostly rock/house/etc.

This is the Tarkus design
Tarkus - undefinition

and this is the SB Acoustics 3 Way design
SB Acoustics 3 ways

Cost seems to be about the same.

Open to more suggestions if something is out there which I haven't come across!

Thankyou for that! I have seen that! But that is unfortunately out of my budget! 🙁 I am looking around 500usd max, which is drivers only!

Anyone have some input regarding Tarkus vs SB 3 Ways? Also I am assuming either of these will be an upgrade from my Zaph?

Obviously it's impossible to say without hearing them, but my money would be on the Tarkus because quite a few have built them and heard them. They should also be easier to drive than the SB Acoustics because the SBA has 2 woofers in parallel and the impedance will drop low and could cause problems for some amplifiers.
The Tarkus woofer is also happy to work in a sealed box, so you could experiment with a sealed box to see if you prefer it.

I like the looks of the Sb Acoustics. I searched around but couldnt find info on the 3 ways, sensitivity, f3, etc..will the SB 3 way play as low as Tarkus? I will be powering with a Denon avr x2400h. Also which speaker will have better mids and highs? Mostly for Rock/pop music and Movies.

Ive got drivers for the MTM part of this Zaph speaker (got the crossover for the Martin King Satori MTM but no workshop currently) so would now just need the woofers but what stops me is how ugly this tower is! I don’t think I’d build them even if I had no WAF considerations!!

Those Tarkus however are a handsome design - for me good aesthetics are often (not always) part of the enjoyment of a product. I think the design parameters describe what I would be after as well. Have fun.

I'd go crazy with colors, or combination of colors. I don't like the looks of SB12.3 either but to get that performance from loudspeaker would cost a lot more if you'd try to buy it. Zaph made a bunch of options to set the sound by your own preference and listening space. That's very rare.
