Anyone recently purchased any speakers or crossover parts from Europe and know the import tariff?
In the UK I pay 20% VAT and then couriers surcharge which is about £10.
My last purchase was for £60 and I paid £20 in charges so look sabout 33%.

Anything you get from China either through yourself ordering or through parts express or in any other company is gonna have a 25% tariff on it next week.
If you look at your Digikey purchases you'll see which products have the tariff applied.
My sister sells oil-field tubular goods, valves and fittings for refineries etc. prices have spiked up more than 15% in the past few weeks.

They may charge extra to drive to Brooks County! 😀
What do you need? If it is not too bulky, you could order it to me (UK) and I forward to you as used with a low value (if you are prepared to risk it). You need to compensate me for postage obviously and return the favour at some point (PE or eBay stuff).

I’m thinking that’s getting into the grey area for tax evasion, might wanna keep that kinda thing in a PM.......might be paranoid, but just sayin’ !

Way to avoid tariff is stop doing business with one of our worst enemy. Lots of other good countries like Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Europe.

Which also happens to be one of the largest economies worldwide, growing at rates not seen in the USA or Europe and possessing massive amounts of cash which Republicans tend to adore. I wonder what will happen to the tech geeks in the US when they find out the "worst enemy" supplies about 99% of their devices rare earth magnets and if the "worst enemy" decides to apply an export quota/ban? Oh yes, when need for a new debt ceiling comes into hand soon, did you actually know the "worst enemy" holds about 7.1% of the total US debt outstanding?

Good point, Mario. So many people fail to see the big picture. The word "enemy" is often a term assigned by a government to whip up public support for defence spending which only serves to benefit the arms industry. China's economic growth is largely due to western greed. ie. outsourcing manufacturing to maximise profit. The downside is that jobs back home disappear and are unlikely to ever come back.

I suppose economics isn’t really politics....right?
But that might be the point of a ‘trade war’ with resulting tariffs.....to try and bring it home? That is if home is still handi-capable enough!
All that fuss most likely isn't getting jobs back to US but moving them to one or more of the countries Ted mentioned. The point seem to be not to make US stronger but China weaker. Planetary chess game.

There’s just no pride anymore .....it’s hard to be proud when you step back and look at the actual state of affairs.
Funny after 15 answers NOBODY answered the OP question, :
Just sayin´😀
🙄Import Tariff FROM-EU-TO-USA
Just sayin´😀
Short answer: typically 1.2% for most products, a couple 2.4% and one a whopping 3.9% .
Unless they come from "enemies of the State" so China now pays 25% ; Cuba and North Korea a whopping 45% to 90%.
They didn´t add Russia or Iran to the list yet.

Crazy thing is you can buy direct from C and still save a ton even with the 25% lol
That’s right,
I took the chance and ordered light fixtures straight from China and saved 60% over buying the Same exact stuff here.
Took 3 wks though!
