I have a low noise fet psu with 12v out , 2 amp rating.

Are there any drawback if the 2 euipment draws less then 1.5a in total?

Or if i tapped the 12v out to a lm7809 reg to get another 9v supply, will the 9v supply fromghe lm7809 inject noise back to the originally low noise supply? Supposing the low noise supply is better than normal regulators?

No it should be Ok, the *v regulator you can add series element ( watch the 3T devices drop out limit) that should help to isolate any noise besides the regulators own rejection ratio.

Just be sure to use local 10uF or larger capacitors to decouple both the input and output of the 9V regulator.
