Tannoy Gold Recone

I am going to recone my Tannoy Gold 15” s.Cones belongs to Lockwood.
Does anybody have experience with the reconed drivers, how they sound in comparison to the originals.?

I know of several who have had it done.
The hard (er) edged surrounds (Reds Golds) take a while to break in, and you get your full bass level back.
I have re-edged Tannoy HPDs using the same cones as they were in very good condition. That was with the correct foam surround kits.
I know of one pair of HPDs that received a harder edge refit. Not sure about that though, as those cones were designed differently with spiders to reduce cone break up at higher volumes. Adding a hard edge as well?
As long as you use genuine reconing kits, should not be a problem or change in sound.
