Tannoy 2046 8" Dual Concentric - Measurements

Tannoy System 800 (or CMS8) driver specifications
Tannoy 2046 8" Dual Concentric:

Did you measure the response of these dual concentric drivers with that crossover?

If you have them could you post those as well.

Thanks!

DonM

No I don´t have any meaningful measurements (yet), I have to buy a measurement mic first.
But the crossover is the original one from Tannoy in my (factory made) System 800 speakers.
Here is the user manual (with measurements):

Perhaps you could consider some simple Bass Reflex enclosures ?
Often Horns result in a thinner bass than a simple ported box... Unless of gargantua size.. Sad, but also true.

Yes, the Tannoy System 800 is a bassreflex with 21l tuned to 40 Hz. The active version
(System 800A) uses the same enclosure with some bass boost that extends the bass to
44 Hz (-3 dB). Manual:

I have a pair of the above drivers and would like to make a pair of horns in the style of Cain & Cain for a large room.
I have the woodwork skills to follow through with this plan but need help getting the T & S or pre-designed plans.
Please help.

Hi, I'm pretty new here. Newer than this thread actually..
I just read this and I think there might be some kind of misunderstanding. There are at least 2 different tannoy 8'' PP drivers: 2064 and 2046. They are similar but not the same. I have a pair of Tannoy System800 which uses the 2046 driver. I also bought some tannoy S8iw wall speakers with the 2064 driver. Not sure whether this:
http://www.speakerbits.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=child_special.tpl&product_id=424&category_id=1208&option=com_virtuemart[/URL]
... is the right one(2064S). Anyway there is a pdf including TSPs and specs.

I tried and put the 2064 in the System 800 cabinet including System 800 crossover and it worked nicely together with an original System 800 (2046) in stereo setting, but I think the 2064 has less low end in that box. So I am not sure whether you can use the 2046 TSP for 2064.

Soon I will built up a speaker measuring system and hope to be able to measure both drivers.

Thanks to gk7 for the schematics!

Hope this is still useful
regards
matt

I am interested in the schematic for the 800A.

Hi guys looking at the schematic is IC4 and IC5 the power amps, am wondering if they are still available to purchase. am thinking to buy an old pair of tannoys not working so doing a bit of research to see how much the amps are if they do need replacing.
Thanks
