The pros about the 1772 vs 1808, is that you get away with a smaller box with the 1772 to get the same bass extension if aiming for a BR, BVR, or BLH.

No, they would be close enough to being the same to be interchangeable for the same gain BW, just some form of EQ would be required for the 1772 to 'fill up' the larger cab.

Hi Jacozz,

I noticed that in February you running the w8 1772s in OBs.

I was thinking of doing something similar with either the w8 1808s or 1772s. I have a bass drivers which in BR can go flat to 500Hz. I currently run them with OB Coral Betas - sounds great to me, but has that vintage sound (e.g. "warm" distortion) so wanted to look at some modern, low distortion options.

I was thinking of running a digital cross over at 300Hz with some digital EQ.

Was just wondering what your thoughts on the project are? Now that you have had time to listen to them for a while, how do the OB 1772s measure up?

Thanks for any advice,

Cheers

Matt
