Im looking at using either of these 2 tweeters. I'd like to crossover at 2khz to a 7 or 8 inch woofer. One is the Peerless DX25BG60 and the other is the SS D2608. Are there any major differences between them? I have a high end system that I want to get the very best sound out of them. I like a relaxed sound so I dont need every last drop of detail if it means it will sound etched.
There is a lot different there. I'm likely in the minority, but I don't care for the HDS tweeter. Lots of sizzle is how it sounds to me.
The "Beastmode" DX25BG60 is a great tweeter. This or D2604/833000, either is really nice.

Hey Wolf good to hear from you. Thanks I'll take a look at the D2604 as well. I am making a list of candidate woofers to go with these tweeters. I guess I should initiate a separate thread?
Ugly (woofer) just to throw a fly into the ointment. I also read good things about the Seaa 27TDFC. Is this in the same league?
Not in my opinion it's not. The HD is higher in the TDFC/TBFC than the Beastmode tweeters. The Beastmodes will also reach lower than the Seas TDFC/TBFC.
YMMV,

Any 26mm tweeter that can waveguide down to 1kHz should have that namesake. Naturally aspirated, they can do 1.5kHz. It's a name Johnny Richards came up with for the DX25BG60. I'm not the only one using it.

ahhh. I'm learning. Thanks. I'll post another thread about the woofer to go with the tweeter and more.
I'm not a fan of the 27TDFC/ 27TBFC/G tweeters. they seem shouty to me in the presence (~ 2500Hz) region. measurements show either dipped or flat power response too. unsure what is going on. think there are better candidates nowadays.
