Hey guys I have a rockford t2500-1bdcp on the bench. The unit would power up then directly into protect. It had some blown output fets. I replaced the out put fets and the amplifier will turn on and play however it is drawing about 9 amps of current at 14.2 volts and one of the voltage regulators lm337t is getting hot and heating up the top left of the heat sync. Is this normal? I have not hooked it up to high current yet so I don't know how the amp acts under a load.
What's the circuit board designation of the regulator (important for any component you reference)?
Are you sure that that regulator is the greatest source of heating in that area?

Pretty sure. Used a ir heat gun and every thing was at like 90f and u1000 was at 110f probably heat soak from u1001. U1001 was at 135f and the amp was only on for about a minute.
Looking over the amp I found r10 appears to be 000 jumper but is reading 5.7k. Can you confirm value of r10?
According to the programming resistors, 1.5k and 121 ohms, the output should be 16.75v if the reference in the regulator is at 1.25v (voltage from output to reference).
The resistors R5 and R10 (next to it) are 0 ohm jumpers.

So r10 was open. I jumped temporarily and it's idling at4.28 amp at 14.4v. No heat up issue on the u1001. The only thing getting hot is the big ceramic 5w 5ohm resistors r1019 and r1020.
