I would like to know if there is a way to build my T-amp myself.

because it's hard to find in France and seems to become harder every day and I don't want to buy the Super T-amp now.

does it exist some close projet I can build-up myself ?

tanks a lot

I also recommend the AMP6 kit .

Altough I have not yet listened one or started building mine (it should arrive any minute🙂 ) the kit shouldn't be too difficult to solder even for beginners.
The kit is suplied with 11 pages of instructions with customer service and 41hz forum... can you ask for more.

What kind of headphone rewiring would have to be done and why??

The only issue I see with using cans and T-amps is that the amplitude response tends to be load dependent with highs rising when the amplifier is playing into higher impedances. And headphones typically have a much higher impedance than loudspeakers. So the frequency response could be pretty bright with cans. Perhaps a parallel load of 8 ohms on the output would cure this???

Good job epiphanying 😉 you got it.

Some highend 'phones- I believe the Sennheiser 600 & 650 at least , have detachable cables at the earcup. This makes the process a lot less scary, you can mod the original cabes without opening the thing up.. If you screw it up you can order replacement cables..

The rewire is the main thing. But there is much more to it. The amp needs a load of somewhere near 8R, plus you need to attentuate the output by about 10:1.

For starters.

I do have a project on the back burner that will allow headphones to be properly driven by a small T-Amp, and no rewiring needed. Someday I'll get to it.... 🙄
