Hi,
Does anyone here have a SYS-2722 with W+F option installed? Is it still possible to purchase the option in 2021? Any idea of the cost?
TIA
NB - I already have a SYS-2722 -)

No one? I presume it's a SW option, which I'd have to buy from AP? Will they still sell it? Any idea of cost? I won't bump this again, as it seems like a pretty obscure request... Our 2722 hasn't been switched on in months. I'm trying to find a use for it 🙂
Hi Jan,
Thank you - that was the answer I needed (although didn't want!).
>Why do you want it?
Because I have an assortment of analogue tape machines that I dream of renovating. I realise that there are shareware programs out there which will do the job, but I'll need a new soundcard. Considering that I need a new soundcard to digitise the tapes anyway, all roads lead towards a new card. The question will be, whether I get one of the better cards to use with your auto-ranger 🙂 I only really keep the 2722 as it has ~2dB better THD+N than the UPVs here, but I only need -115dB once-in-a-blue-moon. There is a strong argument for selling the 2722, and focusing long-term on keeping the UPVs in good fettle, along with an RME + autoranger for general testing. Methinks that some time soon, AP will be the only player left in the game making a dedicated AA (bar Prism - but that gets even less use than the 2722... I only keep that in case I go on-site, but the pandemic has meant on-site visits are not exactly often!).
I think there are a couple of oscillators around that will beat the 2722's one, which means that there could be a 2722 hitting the classifieds some time soon. Of course, having spent however-long-it-takes to sell the thing, some client will come along and ask for plots that have the AP logo...

The System Two’s W&F Module used market is typ $1200. The module works in 23xx through 27xx. They are rare. Yes now software has a solution. Take the ChA or ChB monitor output (1 volt level) and run it into a Sound card with the application. If your system has DSP it can be used to get info about the W&F spectrum.
