What´s the best way to build a switch box for use between output from my valve phono pre and inputs to main intregrated (Sugden A21Se) and and phones amp ? My Creek OBH21Se has a pass through option but because my integrated has buffered input I need to have it switched on at all times unless I switch cables manually which gives better sound IMO through noth speakers and phones. Should I opt for this hairshirt routine or is there a way round it ? Or what I gain in convenience likely to be lost due to more connections ?
What kind of switches do you want to use: direct actuated (Rotary, pushbutton) , relay, reed, IC (CD4051and the like), or what another?

Then any metallic box (including some discarded foot or drink can) or a well internally shielded plastic box containing the connectors, switches and perhaps some indicator leds may do the job.
Of course. There are such "Audio grade" with coating of gold in their contacts, and those of simple manufacturing (Here in Argentina called "chotos", "berreta", "medio pelo".).
I guess I´ll fit a relay switch inside my phono pre. I´ll never use both at the same time so I´ll save on interconnection costs.
Thanks to all.
Thanks to all.
Place a good snubber across the relay coil to damp spikes that capacitively coupled via the coil to contact capacitance, will enter into the audio wires. Usually, place a diode plus a 10µF 16V across the relay coil, for 12V units, or a proportional to it for other voltages. At last, try and cut this cap value.
