Ok this is remotely diy orientated, but i would in general just like your opinions.

For my coursework i am making a pair of 3 channel speakers, and i need to perform surveys on market needs and trends. so if you have the time, could you tell me:

1. What you look for in a pair of speakers?
2. What sort of style of enclosure do you prefer?
3. How much did you pay for your last pair of speakers? (only pairs, not theatre systems or ones that include subs)
4. How long do you own a pair of speakers before buying ones of a different style or justupgrading them?

as you can see i am only asking about speakers you buy. it doesnt matter if they were originally DIY or if they were off the shelf, just as long as you didnt build them yourself.

Now im going to apolagise again because i know this is a DIY site and this post isnt, but i needed to talk to enthusiasts and this seemed like an ok place to ask!!

cheers to anyone who replies, as i said this is for my coursework so any replies are extremely valuable 😉

Are you at school or college? I wanted to do DIY audio related stuff at school for coursework.

I'm not going to buy another commercial speaker, just build my own 😎

1. Good looks, great sound, transducers...
2. Sealed 3-way, or ported 2-way.
3. £110
4. About 2 year - new speaker, but just weeks upgrading current ones though. :devilr:

im at college at the moment, 6th form to be precise.

i am a newly converted audiophile so not only am i doing coursework but im on a "quest of discovery".

the interesting thing was my tutor wasnt going to let me carry out this project for my coursework because he thought there wasnt enough theory involved and it was too simple. to say the least i soon proved him wrong!?!!
