Surround sound - Bipoles/Dipoles??

Hi all,

In the quest to complete my surround setup I have come across many rear speakers - even purchasing some Bose on recomendation of my friend (BIG mistake, never again!), the latest thing to catch my eye are the new B&W DM600 S3's as they match my current setup - DM603 S3's and an LCR60 center.

My question is what is the best way to implement speakers like this in a smallish room to get a good surround effect?

I was thinking of buying two pairs and running them in a dipole/bipole configuration with one pair on the side walls and one on the rear wall hoping this would create a more diffuse sound, although I'm not quite sure if there would be much diference running them out of phase ?

Any ideas would be great.
