I'm not sure if this is the best forum for this, but couldn't find another spot that seemed appropriate.

Has anyone had any experience returning items purchased from Sure Electronics? I purchased their 4 x 100 Watt Class D Audio Amplifier Board - STA508 (Item AA-AB009), and cannot get it to work on all channels. Channels 1 & 2 are functioning, but I cannot get 3 & 4 to produce any output to the speakers. I've tried switching input cables, speaker cables and speakers, but no luck. For my initial testing, I've been powering it with a laptop power supply rated at 19V / 60 watts. Not the planned long-term solution; but wanted to make sure it was working before moving forward.

I have sent them 3 emails and posted once on their website return form. The first email was sent Jan 22nd. I've asked if they can suggest any troubleshooting steps or provide info on how to get a replacement unit. No response yet.

Is this typical from them? My next step is to contact my credit card company to see if I can get the charges reversed... not sure how this works with an international purchase. I thought I'd check here first to see what others have experienced.

Thanks in advance

Can you post a picture of your set-up? That will help visualize if there is a issue there. I assume you have all 4 inputs seeing a good source? If all 4 inputs are seeing the same source, that will help eliminate the source as the issue and pinpoint. i.e. CD RCA's going to all 4 inputs, yet only channels 1&2 produce sound. Just a way to eliminate everything else. Also, what kind of PSU is it...laptop brick style? Has correct type of plug?

I attached an image from a pdf I found here. The pdf has some basic documentation and instructions. I followed the guidance there.

I attached two different sets of speakers as illustrated, then attached the RCA cables as shown (2 sets going into a splitter with 3.5mm converter), then plugged the PSU into the jack, then plugged the PSU into the wall receptacle. The lights on the amp comes on as described in the manual. The blue mute lights for 1&2 and 3&4 come on briefly, then turn off. I then plug the 3.5mm headphone jack (from the RCA to 3.5mm converter) into my iPhone and play something off Panadora. The speakers on channels 1 & 2 play, but not 3 & 4. I put my ear to the speakers - no sound. I touch the cones - no vibration.

I've tried swapping speakers, swapping RCAs, only running 2 channels at a time. I also tried different runs and lengths of speaker cable. None of it gets channels 3 & 4 to work.

NOTE: Before making any of the cabling changes I described, I would unplug the PSU from the wall, let it discharge for 30 seconds or so, then disconnect from the pcb jack, then wait another 30 seconds. Only then did I change speakers or change RCA cables.

I'll post a pic of the power supply when I get home. It's a basic laptop brick from a 5 year old ASUS laptop. Probably underrated in terms of watts for this application, but I kept volumes low. Just wanted to make sure it worked first.
