Hey guys. I'll admit it, I'm completely green when it comes to all these mini amp boards, but I've been reading about them lately with great interest.
I know I want to try one of the Sure products, but my question is in regards to the power supply. Does anyone feel that a tool battery charger would make a suitable power supply? I have a couple of Ryobi 18v chargers that are no longer inuse, and thought that might be OK to use. They are labeled as Class 2 chargers with an output of 19vDC, 2.2 amps.
Also, if I was to hook this up directly to the analog outputs of an LCD TV, would I need a preamp before the amp, or would the TV's output be enough to drive the amp board adequately?
I have tried google, but did not find an answer to my question. Thanks.

I have driven these boards using an old laptop PS (20V, 3.5A) and this works fine. The regulation on your tool chargers may not be so good, however, but large electrolytic filter caps have never been cheaper. I would connect a couple of 2200uF at 50V caps across your charger output--be sure to observe cap polarity to avoid, ahem, explosive results. These cost about $6 each and represent useful amp board insurance. You will not get full output at 20V, but 2/3 output from the usual TK2050 board is usually enough power for most purposes.
