Supravox drivers? Any opinions?

If someone can elaborate on this supravox driver I would appreciate it very very much.

Why is it special?
Why doe it costs 1500€
And how does Cessaro build their opus one out of it 😉

because they use big Alnico magnet , same expensive price for a 15inch GPA 416B or 515

no can't help with this one , i only try the smaller 165gmf wich is a good medium driver , same as EMS or PHL if you want to stay french ..

Rather large Alnico magnet.
5 roll, hand coated paper surround.

Very lightweight, mutli layer cone. .
Have no experience with them so can't really tell much more.

Ho wow thank you very much for the database link!

It is very tempting but the price is huge obstacle.
I remember hearing the Opus one delivering some of the best midrange I ever heard

Old schol designs with high Vas/low Fs acomplished with very compliant suspension (high Cms, low Rms). You can see through suspension on some units, like on the old Altecs. Lightweight cones, alnico magnets, small Xmax...need big enclosure...Price is ridiculous, measurement data looks like cartoons - this is so often with "mystical producers"...also bunch of resonance wrinkles in passband. If I would see only impedance measurement I would say that this is 30 bucks unit...

I don't know, you could buy 10 to 12 Satori MW16Ps for price of one and make a line array which would probably eat it alive in all aspects. Satori MW16P is modern unit made on the same principles, but without old problems....

I had some plan to buy GMF285 but price is too high and there is no independant measurement data.
