The best way is to try to get trade status with WES Component. You do need an ABN though, but you will then have access to Vifa, Scan, Peerless, and a couple of cheaper lines.

Soundlabs sell Visaton drivers, and Manger iirc
http://www.soundlabsgroup.com.au/
Seas, Adire and Hemp can be purchased from AranmarAcoustics, but they are not cheap, and it can often be cheaper to import specials from US, I nearly did this a couple of months ago,but funding wasn't enough :-(

WAR Audio sell some of the more expensive brands , but their web site is strange (imo)
http://www.warco.com.au/waraudio/index.html
Hope that helps a bit. There may be others, but I deal with mainly WES, because the trade prices are nicer !!
ps: where are you located ??

I'm up in Waratah, near the Uni.. sorta makes sense seeing I will basically be full time up there for the next few years.
Itinerant student ;-))
I'll let you know what Peter is up to, but since he built that yummy open back hybrid, I don't think he can see the need to build anything else !!

I bought my Peerless and Vifa drivers from here:

They are good to deal with and pack carefully.

Yes, I still sell the Scan Speak drivers and have removed the others to take a load off. An ABN through WES is the best way to go if you can.

ScanSpeak/Peerless/Vifa and Dai-Chi and others through normal retail (no accout application required) is via
www.wagner.net.au
Ok service, but super fast and cheap delivery (flat rate of $9 to all the way across the country to WA)
My drivers tend to come from a one-stop shop like Madisound.
Now I recently purchased some parts from Zalytron, and found Elliot easy to deal with. He'll get the job done, just don't be put off by his succinct emails.

You pay full retail price that way and not trade prices. The difference can be quite substantial.
Savvy internet shoppers always want the lowest prices. The difference in trade account and retail pricing is typically around 20%.
I am not speaking for WES (Wagner Electronic Services) Components, but where I work, from a sales point of view we love trade pricing- it gives the customer the perception of getting a discount and encourages further spending.
Anyone with an Business and ABN is eligible for a trade account.
The average trade customer knows what they want, places orders by our product code and off they go. They take less time and buy more or more often. This is one of the reasons why trade customers receive a slight discounts.
We even love wholesale accounts even more. Most of whom are OEM or ODM customers. They typically fax in their orders, spend more than 4 digits ($) per order, and order monthly. We only hear from them every now and then, regarding specs of newly stocked item, followed by a purchase of 100+ units for testing/evaluation. We reward them with substantial discounts.
Last week I had a retail customer query re: a suitable replacement tweeter for a B&W 803 speaker. I engaged with an honest discussion and customer education. No intent of a sale, and recommendation of another supplier. This is during the peak sales period when other people are standing around waiting for service. This is the nature of retail.
Comparing wholesale, trade or retail, no prizes for guessing what is LEAST profitable, but has the most customer enquiries, service and after-sales support.
regards,
tktran
PS. Since SoundLabsGoup introduced Visaton to Australia, retail pricing is generally equivalent/competitive/better than US/European pricing. But since the rise of the AU dollar, it looks slightly less appealing for savvy internet shoppers.

Hi Tktran,
unrelated to this (well, mostly), I'd like to ask you a few questions about NaO's you have built - could you please send me a PM ?
Thanks,
Bratislav

Hi Thanh,
I've been trying to reach Zalytron, but the mails keep bouncing back. I've been using the sales@... email, is there another?
