Being sceptical, I looked for some English language info on ultrasonic perception. This guy seems to cover it well;

I do use piezo supertweeters, but that's to aid my aged hearing, not for any 'audiophile' reasons.

All of the supertweeters that I have seen tested, have plenty of output at 10 kHz and often much less. The Aperion goes down to 5 kHz. I know that I could hear either of these models, nothing to do with >20 kHz

I've got 3 sets of those cheap Fostex Supertweeters here. Never got around to using them.
Supposedly good to 40K +

Tandy sold poor plastic copies of the proper metal Fosters. I once had the opportunity to compare them > the Tandy's were crap.I've got 3 sets of those cheap Fostex Supertweeters here. Never got around to using them.

I hope you've got the 'real deal', and if so DO use them someday. They're really good above 8Khz!
PS. Foster speakers were for the 'consumer market' and Fostex are pro. drivers.

you can use Visaton Frs5x as super tweeter it goes up to 38khz.
Here a measurement of it (in a loudspeaker project "Cheap trick 310")
its only 17 euro

But it starts severely beaming at 10kHz. So what if it resonates at 38kHz? Those are breakups. I thought main feature of supertweeter besides going past normal tweeter is wide dispersion.
Plenty of output down to 3 kHz, so you need a high pass filterThis little foster costs the same...
If you send me US$999 in used bank notes (no Confederate money please) I will send you a pair of these mythical beasts to extend the frequency range of your speakers to at least 197.8kHz.Of course not adding it to the box of my speakers so as not to damage them, but rather in its own box superimposed on my speakers.
Your speakers will be future proofed against any further advances of HI in the Fi or RES. You don't even have to connect them; just place them on top of your present speakers.Would this be effective to transform my boxes into HI RES speakers?
Here's a measured response of the SS-CS5 at 1 meter, 10dB down at 80kHz on axis. Measured with a very recently calibrated ACO 1/4" type 1 microphone. Cost of the speaker is about $200 a pair currently. About a year ago they were getting blown out at $77 per pair!I've been working with calibrating microphones above 20kHz. The rather cheap Sony SS-CS5 speakers have a small supertweeter that pretty comfortably reaches 50kHz, and even has usable energy for comparison calibration to nearly 80kHz. Directly on-axis, of course.
Cheap enough still for anyone who wants to experiment with audibility of supersonic program content. You could pull the supertweet out of an SS-CS5 and still have way less invested than if you bought standalone supertweeters. Also they probably beam less overall than other supertweets , as it's like a half inch dome.
My measuring does not go past 20kHz.
