I'm looking to build a suitcase boom box and have most of the materials already but need help with the amp or the wiring. I want to use one woofer, mid, and tweeter, as shown in the picture (speakers just placed on top for layout). I have a Lepai LP-2020A+ that I could use, but this is a stereo, non-bridgeable amp. I guess there would be no way to use it unless I sacrifice a channel and only hook up the speakers to one side (not an option).
So in terms of a comparable amp that could be powered by 12VDC, take an input from an iphone via 3.5mm or RCA, and output in mono or bridged mono, do you have any suggestions? I've thought about using a DVC woofer and using a couple more small speakers so I can actually have stereo sound, but I was hoping to use these speakers I already have, in the layout shown.
Most of these low dollar amps seem to be stereo & non-bridgable. I found this one that might work? Don't need PA function though. Pyle PMSA20 50 Watt PA Mini Amplifier

Boomcase does this type of speaker layout with a bunch of their cases, I guess they're working with mono amps?

Its trivial to wire up a Lepai with one channel for bass
and the other for mid treble via simple arrangements.

I've thought about that as well but I feel like I would lose the highs from one channel and the lows from the other.

That would be the point of doing it after first
converting the stereo input into a mono signal.

1) your suitcase will obviously be mono so that implies pre mixing both stereo channels into a single mono one.
2) all amps you mention are probably the same inside.
FWIW the Amazon labelled "50W"amp states 30W RMS ... and that probably running from the 120VAC supply, which may give it 16 or 18V DC or whatever maximum voltage the chip can stand ... but when on battery all you have is 12.6V DC ... period , so perceived differences wash away.
The Tripath has 2 such amps and costs half, so using just 1 channel is still the better option.
What Sreten suggests is to biamp the system, use an electronic crossover after mixing into mono, sending lows to woofer and mids/highs to mid and tweeter.
