I'd like to get a decent soldering iron to do some basic mods (through-hole only) but I have no idea what kind of tip would be best for my needs. I've done a lot of Googling but it's surprisingly hard to find the right info. Right now I'm looking at a 30W Ersa that comes with a chisel tip with a 3.1mm diameter. Is that too big for soldering and desoldering caps, resistors, etc? Should I get a smaller tip?
Thanks.
Thanks.
