Suggestions, small sub & linkwitz transform

Hello,

I'm thinking of building an subwoofer for the living room to complete the low end. The speakers i soon will be using is a pair of Markaudio Alpair 7.3 in a pencil enclosure driven by either a Pass ACA class A amp or my LM3886 dual mono chipamp from BrianGT.

I've been thinking of any Dayton Audio sub for this setup and due to WAF it really need to be a small enclosure. WAF of box is max 1 ft.³. Size of the living room is about 4x6 meters, so not that big. The main purpose of the sub will be music listening.

More specific I've been thinking of the Dayton RSS265HF-4 10" or the RSS265HO-4 10".

The HF seems to be a better sounding choice for me due to all the hundreds of reviews and comparisons I've red about them. The HF in the suggested HF box have an F3 at 51Hz which is a bit too high for what I'm looking for as subwoofer tho. I would like to reach a F3 as low as possible but closer to 30Hz is prefered. HF driver in vented box will be too big.

The HO is a great choice due to the suggested box sizes. F3 of the suggested sealed version is also too high and the suggested vented size looks nice/small enough for WAF. But according to most reviews the HO low end is more distorted and at the end I think the HF driver have better high definition at the low end, which i want.

I'm thinking of 3 different amplifiers for this project and can't decide which to go with.
Hypex FusionAmp FA501 is the one I've red the most about and according to reviews, the Ncore seems to have better control and dynamics at the low end compared to my other thought, which is the PWR-ICE250. My third though is the Dayton SPA1000.

My problem seems to be that I don't know much about linkwitz transform and what it requires to put in application. I have tried to read several forum threads and simulate with WinISD and BassBox. In my version of winISD i can't even find how to apply the linkwitz transform into simulation and the same with bassbox. I don't feel like guessing or testing an linkwitz application risking burning the driver, without any knowledge.

So I guess the measurement & eq will do the most. But which box, driver and amplifier would you guys recommend in setup to make sure the start point is great and to not burn the driver? I'm of course open for any other ideas as well, as long as the WAF is great.

Thanks in advice,

I looked at the speaker and the excusion is limited. I bought the SEAS L26 1001, it has 56 mm excusrsion. I used to have an Alcone 10 inch, it bottomed out - nasty sound - at 12 mm or so.
Secondly, there is a subwoofer excel sheet to design an active filter with a LR filter. Why not start with that & the chipamp. It should be good enough.

I think so.
This whole concept of Linkwitz and its implementation is well thought out. It will do, even though designed as an addition to other system.
Check however that your main has the same high-pass as in his system, or you might get a too warm sound.

Thanks everyone for sharing good ideas. Pluto sub is quite interesting.
Regarding the reckhorns, I'm not sure i read att the data correct. Seems to be several different calculations to me. 4x D-165 and also TL box?

I've been thinking of maybe using a PR after reading about the Digger8 sub and Swope sub, they seems to be quite great subs both of them with PRs.

Made some calculations on the RSS265HF-4 and RSS265-PR in a 20L sealed box with 5 disks on the PR, 2nd order highpass filter with +6db at 20-23hz and about 80-100w power.

Please have a look at the WinISD simulations. How about the delay and impedance?
