Both are technically (way) too high a Qt for tubes except maybe a very high DF PP amp.Take e look at GRS's SW12 and SW10 drivers, don't let the price fool you they are way better than what they cost, and if you are on a budget it is a no brainer.
The Peerless 830669 12" woofer has been very good to me over the years. It's a very clean driver that plays higher than expected, so can be used in a 2-way.
But I see it's now a non stocked item at P.E. Too bad.

Don't forget large volume good aperiodic design. 😉Both are technically (way) too high a Qt for tubes except maybe a very high DF PP amp.
I wasn't per se, just this forum is so minimalist WRT bulk that I've quit recommending anything that requires bigger than a driver width BR tower, which by the time it's stuffed densely enough there's no low end left. Factor in the OP hasn't responded to my amp query, prefer to err on the high side (low DF).
Large Aperiodic is basically how I have them setup at the moment...........
I originally got them to try in a OB setup. 😉
I have them in some old JVC and Technic's cabinets of 2.4 to 2.6 cu ft and the bump in the Q allows them to pretty much have the same low end response curve in anything from 2 to 5 cu.ft. in general as per winlsd and as a replacement is designed in to them for such older cabinets and such.
There fore the cabinets are unsealed and untuned, I have them highly dampened by stuffing them Full of fiberglass (it is what it is).
This flatten's out that hump very nicely, after that I added some ports and tried different lengths and got some nice extensions down to 15-25hz range, overall, no real issues with the Q that way and the graphs show it
The THD is very good for a driver of its cost in my preliminary tests the sharp peak of THD at the lowend was due to stuff vibrating in the room and was before I had reglued the boxes again, that work is still continuing but on the back burner at this time.
I am crossing mine over at about 780-820hz but they measure well up to 2Khz as others have stated, not bad for a 12" and the 8.5 Xmax is sweet and fits this woofer perfect !!
Like I stated I have 4 of them going at this time and even though I would rather have a stack of some RS's, these woofers were not a waste of time or money until I can step up to the next level later on.
I have bought budget drivers before but non of them were this good!!
Here is the post of my first report on these drivers,

And here is what I am doing with them at this time,

Sorry that I could not get any better THD measurements yet, I have yet to test for their specs due to the crappy mixer I was using at time (Noise floor -65-68 db if I am luckily) due to be rebuilt soon.
Anyhow, I just wanted to get out here and show that the underdog is not so bad !!! 😀
Cheers !!!

Large?! A T/S max flat for the 10" = ~206.57 L/7.29 ft^3 is large and the 12" = 1,684.84 L/59.5 ft^3 is freaking huge even for me.
Yes, we understand they may be large for your apps and would be where I'm at ATM, but coming on the tail of my 'large' response I wanted to make clear my frame of reference.

Just bought a couple of 15" at more than 1/2 off. Seems to me that it all were discounted, so are you sure they're dropping the line, or just clearing out discontinued models?Solen.ca is the North American distributor. Or I should say was as they are dropping the line. The remaining drivers are on sale. Less than half price on some.
