Those k12 looks pretty sweet actually, they would match the 70's sonab R4000-2 that would drive them really well 😀.
What kind of driver do i have to look for if I were to use a 12" driver? Is there anyone thats even close to affordable?
and do the box in those dimensions work well with something as small as a BOFU?

K12 for me have worked pretty nice with: Eminence Beta 10cx - more hassle/less detail than FE206EN, W8-1772 is good but pricey and I'd take the Fostex over the Tang to save money. IN US, oem 12" Eminence cast-frame coax have been cheap and offer 80oz magnets. I've a P-Audio coax in one K12. In general the 12" drivers are pushing the LF cutoff higher in K12 than using 8" drivers. I don't have a good BOFU to load - after 5 years the foam rotted out on mine and fs is higher than it was when new.

I'm not sure if its good to lose the floor boundary. i've had Beta 12LTA in K12 - 12LTA needs a tweeter and its - well - ok - but a lively 8 might sound better and save the expense of a tweeter

A regular Karlson Eight was a tiny speaker - but sometimes fun - it needs a speaker with a good top end - there's not much "bass" due to only about 1/2 cubic foot rear chamber - it might do better bass with some 6.5 I've had the earlier version loaded with Panasonic, Tang and WBAL fullrange - maybe I'll buy a BOFU for comparisons

since I've heard couplers smaller than K12 play pretty well with 8", here's a guess at an 8" coupler with
just about enough air volume to get some of the lower pitched drums - the vent hasn't been decided upon
and probably have to empirically reduced in size starting a big large

My recommmendation (although I have not built them) is based on the fact that you are based in Europe (where the Pioneer BOFU is not that cheap) and is for the Monoacor SPH-60x either in the 'Bigger is better' BiB cabinet which has been mentioned previously in this thread, or in the 'Cheap Trick 193' cabinet. I would guess that these could also be crossed over (at a fairly high frequency) to a helper tweeter.
