Hi
I'm new here and from the UK. I am researching at the moment to build a 1KW subwoofer. I want to use a plate amplifier to keep everything in one box and was looking at using the Hypex 8.0 here Strassacker: Speaker Building, Components
but have changed my mind to this one by BK Electronics here :- Extreme 1000
I want to use 2 drive units in a either a box or a cylinder that a opposing to cancel out vibrations, my question is do you guys know anything suitable (say 12") that are easy to source from the UK
Cheers

Hi,
2 x LAB12 in a force cancelling box, 200L tuned to 20-22Hz with big ports.
Though IMO you'd be better off with the placement of two 100L boxes
in a room than one box with force cancelling, both are viable options.
Why you need 1kW and two 12"ers is up to you to ascertain.

Depends on the size of the room.
Besides being force cancelling, a back to back in phase setup
(bipole) has the advantage of not having baffle step.
Hi,
Nothing I said depends on the size of the room.
Baffle step is irrelevant for a subwoofer.
