For some reason lately my subwoofer has not been outputting, and it actually seems to be off and on. Sometimes it works great, whereas most of the time it does not. I have checked the cables from the battery and the ground cables and the light on my amp comes on just fine. But the sub does almost nothing even when the bass is turned all the way up. I just barely got a new head unit but I noticed this same problem when I had my old head unit. Anyone have any ideas?
have you checked the cables fromt he terminals on the sub box to the sub itself? i realise this would involve takeign the sub out of the box but it is worth checking, i had the same problem before and it was because on of the cables had come loose inside the enclosure.

I tried your suggestion and I pulled the sub out of the box and didn't find any bad connections. I unhooked the connections and reconnected them even better than before and still very little output. It outputs but very very little. When i adjust the amps gain and bass boost, i get zero change in the amount of bass. Also i tried it without the amp being powered and I got the same amount of output, so this leads me to believe the amp is bad. Is it possible for the LED to be working but the amp to still be bad?? If so, how should I test this? Thanks again.
